"Why Should the Devil Have All the Good Music," originally asked by Martin Luther, is still a headline-grabber over 25 years after pioneer Christian rockers Larry Norman used it as the title to his manifesto-song. First-time filmmakers Heather Whinna and Vickie Hunter delve into the misunderstood and often ridiculed world of Christian rock music. Through on-camera interviews with underground and mainstream Christian rockers, we gain a broader and deeper perspective of a scene that appears to be a contradiction of itself. Featuring footage of Pedro the Lion, the Danielson Family, Demon Hunter, et al, as well as interviews with Steve Albini, and Punk Planet Magazine Editor Dan Slinker. The aspirations of the musicians, their motivations, the effect they have on their audience and on culture at large are all discussed from a broad spectrum of viewpoints, along with critical perspectives on the individual bands and the scene as a whole.

The film won the Audience Choice award at the Chicago Underground Film Festival, where it premiered on August 22nd, 2004.
