HAACK KING OF TECHNO
Friday, May 7, 8pm
$6 / $4 (911 members)

Bruce Haack was one of the most musically and lyrically inventive, but unknown artist in American history. Despite (or perhaps because of) his audience, his music was unusually expressive, combining home-made analog synthesizers with classical, country, pop and acid rock elements. Ironically, his music evolved from his creation of numerous children's albums; but, today his work has inspired the likes of world re-known musicians such as Beck, Beastie Boys and Mouse On Mars; proving he's an almost-lost treasure ripe for rediscovery. Packed with mind blowing visuals, wild music and far out stories, Haack follows the King of Techno as he drops in on Mister Rogers' Neighborhood and golden game show host Garry Moore, playing all his bizarre instruments such as the Peopleodian, a device played by touching people's skin! Directed in true Haack spirit - for kids, adults and music fans alike - this intriguing film will send you out humming School for Robots and scrambling for his records.

--a fun dive into a bizarre creative sensibility; enlivened by apt animated graphics -Variety
