Friday, March 21st, 8pm
$4 / $3 (911 members)

promo shot
from Double Trouble
by Gary Goldberg

Join us for an evening of films by and about artists. Don't forget to wear your black turtleneck and beret.

Painted Sun / Gary Wortzel
Art forgers run up against philosophical barriers when a Pissarro oil painting is stolen from a private collection in Provincetown. Unforeseen changes occur in the operations of a rogue's gallery. Cogswell, the art dealer, and Mac, the art forger can't agree about anything except wanting to control Mason, a young artist caught in the middle.

Double Trouble / Gary Goldberg
Bill Rice and Taylor Mead, New York's most notorious underground performers, appear in this experimental black and white film. Ideal comic foils for one another, Mead and Rice are like a film noire Mutt and Jeff. Goldberg's work has screened at M.O.M.A in New York and The Knitting Factory and won the Ron Mann Award at the Ann Arbor Film Festival.

Doppelganger / Reade Scott Whinnem
Whinnem seeks to liberate the viewer from his bourgeois dependence on violent iconography. He does so by reversing the process of suture, both in the context of the film and in the literal sense.

TV Teddy Meets The MAD DOG / The MAD DOG Collective
Perhaps best known for switching the voice boxes in thousands of Barbies and G.I. Joe dolls, the MAD DOG Collective was called on by 911 to play another prank. This time the gang built an interactive art installation at Seattle Center as part of Beyond Fast Forward. Find out what twisted things they did with Teddy Ruxbin, the talking TV bear.
