Home Alive 911 and Home Alive present:
Staying Alive:
Five years of media coverage on Home Alive

Chanel Reynolds & Cristien Storm
Thursday, July 9th 8pm
$5 /$3 (911 and Home Alive members)

In response to the rape and murder of singer Mia Zapata in 1993, Home Alive formed to provide free and affordable self defense to the community. Over the years a myriad of video footage has been collected about the group. Everything from from local and national news to swanky Hollywood style promotional shorts. Even a 30 min. documentary Anonymous was a woman told Home Alive's story with words from the founding members. This unique media collage juxtaposes what commercial and independent producers deem newsworthy about violence in our society.

Join us for a discussion and screening as we investigate media issues and watch some rockin' women kick some serious ass.
