Memory Whole
Tony Weathers
April 9 - May 26, 2007
In April and May of 2007, 911 Media Arts Center presented Memory Whole, featuring the video sculptures and installations of artist Tony Weathers.
The critics weighed in on the exhibit stating: ”Memory Whole is a good argument for the scientific assertion that symmetry is a necessary component of beauty. The gut response to Weathers’ simple mirroring process, as well as his spontaneous hand-sculpting of the imagery, is pleasure.” Abigail Guay The Stranger, 4/18/2007
“Tony Weathers gets it. The “it” he gets is mobile — moving from institutional critique to homage to sendup and back again. He knows his art history and his theory. Thankfully, he also knows pop culture and good comic timing.” Nate Lippens The Seattle PI, 4/27/2007
This exhibition was curated by 911 associate curator Steven Vroom.
