911 Media Project Receives $15,000 Grant
November 15th, 2011911 Media is pleased to announce a fiscal sponsorship for Peter Carrs’ new documentary film project So Close to America. This project is an investigation of a major pressing issue facing the U.S. and global community today. In light of so much distorted and inflammatory information being presented by the mainstream media today, the project will present a more factual, dispassionate viewpoint on the immigration issue and migrant labor.
Peter Carrs has worked in film, theater, television and radio for over 20 years as both an actor and technician. A recent B.A. in Social Sciences from the University of Washington follows course work in history, political science, media communications and theater.
The project just received a $15,000 grant from the Vista Hermosa Foundation which was established by Ralph and Cheryl Broetje in 1988 in response to the need for quality, affordable childcare for low-income and farm-working families in southeastern Washington State.
