The Warhol Foundation Awards 911 Media $50,000

The Andy Warhol Foundation for the Visual Arts has awarded 911 Media Arts Center a $50,000 capacity building grant. The funds will be used to enhance and expand 911 Media’s website, improve its member database and facilitate community outreach. Included in the grant is a $5,000 technology reserve fund to enable 911 Media to keep current with the latest trends in the ever-changing face of new technology.

The commitment of the Warhol Foundation to 911 Media Arts Center is absolutely vital to our future. Without the funds and the prestige of the Foundation, 911 Media would have ceased to exist long ago,” says Steven M. Vroom, Executive Director.

For over 26 years 911 Media Arts Center has been serving the Seattle Metropolitan Community. Through artist residencies, an innovative youth scholar residency, youth and adult education programs, screenings and exhibitions, 911 Media offers easy access to the tools of technology to the community at below market cost. This commitment to the democratic principle of valuing every voice sets 911 Media apart from other non-profits.
