We will miss you
remembering wendy bulletin board
It is with great sadness that we say Goodbye to Wendy Jackson Hall. Wendy came to 911 Media Arts Center in 2000 and was instrumental in the development of our Hands on Animation Lab (HAL), where she taught engaging and creative animation classes, sharing with her students (both young and old) an amazing love of learning and zest for life. Wendy hosted many animation screenings and events for our community and in 2001, her film "Salmon in The City" was a featured video installation at 911's previous space on Yale Ave.
"We will always remember your enthusiasm and joy in animation. You have inspired and encouraged so many fellow artists.Your smile will be with us forever."
Known locally in the Northwest for her Animation classes offered through the Bainbridge
Island Arts Consortium, IslandWood Environmental Education Center, Nine One One Media Arts
Center, and others, and for her vital role in re-energizing the Northwest Chapter of ASIFA
(International Animated Film Association), Wendy also contributed to the arts and animation
scene in the US and internationally through work with Bread and Puppet Theatre,
Animation World Network (awn.com), ASIFA International and Hollywood, the Society for
Animation Studies, numerous animation festivals and the Rhode Island School of Design where
she received her BFA.

Wendy Jackson Hall, director of the event and 2004's Puppets on Parade entry "Martians Invade," says, "This is a great opportunity to get out there and create something unique. When you participate in a large art project in collaboration with so many other people, you get a special feeling of pride and community connection when it's all finished." To those who may be timid about expressing themselves publicly, she adds, "No experience is necessary."
