Art, Images, and Literature from the WTO Protests
May 26 - July 3, 2000
In conjunction with this Summers exhibition "The Whole World is Watching: Art, Images, and Literature from the WTO Protests" at Center on Contemporary Art (CoCA), 911 Media Arts Center will display "Taking it to the Streets" -- a video installation in 911s front windows examining/contrasting mainstream and independent medias coverage of last years Seattle WTO meetings and protests.
June 3 through July 3, CoCA, 911 Media Arts Center, and the Independent Media Center (IMC) will present "The Whole World is Watching: Art, Images, and Literature from the WTO Protests," a multi-media exhibition featuring photographs, video, art installations, artifacts, performance, propaganda, and literature by local and national artists, independent media activists, mainstream media, the City of Seattle, protestors, and bystanders. The exhibition is a fresh and thoughtful look back (from a six month perspective) at a pivotal moment in Seattles political and activist history, and will feature adjunct community events such as panel discussions, film screenings, and workshops. CoCA is located at 65 Cedar Street in Belltown, call (206) 728-1980 for more info.
