No prior experience necessary!
Our most popular class, and one that the beginning filmmaker cannot do without. Over a two day period you will learn the necessary skills needed to get started producing the film you've always wanted to make. Now is the time, seize the day and join the movement of DIY (Do It Yourself) filmmaking.
Day One: Includes on overview of the three phases of production; pre-production, production and post-production. Each one equaling as important as the next, you will learn the differences and elements involved. You will also learn how to operate portable video equipment including cameras, lights and audio gear. You will start applying these skills right away!
Day Two: Continue down the path of application as you set up and shoot a mock interview in a controlled environment with a professional standing by to answer any questions that arise. Then move onto the hands on post production phase where you receive a crash course in editing using one of the film industries leading editing software - Final Cut Pro. With the guidance of a professional editor you will use the interview footage shot earlier in the day to gain basic understanding of editing. Because Final Cut Pro is a complex program this part of the workshop is intended as an interactive introduction. (If you are interested in learning more we encourage you to register for our Final Cut I and II courses)
With that, the 2-day intensive will come to a close and you are on your way to producing your own work. Class limit 12
