This course will build upon the skills you have acquired in the Intro to Protools class. Taking things a little farther, we will first be digging deeper into equalization, compression and mixing techniques. Using advanced signal routing, automation, loop recording/remixing, Beat Detective, and other effects trickery we will learn how to take mixing to the next level. We will also cover midi in Protools, editing audio with video, how to set up your studio and basic mastering techniques. We will also discuss video formats and Protools compatibility (OMF files), running Protools with Reason and Live via Rewire, and general troubleshooting of a Protools system.
Using a new project of your choosing (music or video based), we will implement these new ideas and solidify the knowledge you will need to continue your use of Protools in your chosen field. By the end of these four classes, you will have a solid foundation of Protools knowledge from which to build a musical or video based project of your own.
Cost of class includes 8 hours of lab time (2 hours per week)
Sign up for the Beginning and Intermediate Protools classes at the same time and receive a 10% discount on each.
